Heavydrive: Installing window panes at an overhang in sub-zero temperatures

The skyline of Frankfurt, Germany has a new highlight: the glass Omniturm. It is located prominently between the Commerzbank Tower and the Main Tower in the city centre. Solar carving: A tower built with the sun in mind

The twelve-story office building with 145,000 square feet of floor space was designed based on a concept called "Solar Carving": The course of the sun within one day was analysed in detail. Then they identified some parts of the building, "cut" them out and closed the gaps with sloping, polygonal glass surfaces.

Form and function beyond the common white cube

Modernity and functionality do not necessarily have to lead to the usual 'white box' design. This is proven by a single-family home in northern Germany designed by architectural firm Annette Scholz. From 19 to 23 February 2024, the doors of R+T - the world's leading trade fair for roller shutters, doors and sun shading - will open once again in Stuttgart. After six long years, the product innovations of the RTS sector will be presented live and in colour at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre. "At the current time, just under 750 exhibitors have registered for R+T 2024. Almost 65,000 net m2 have already been booked, which means that almost 90 % of the maximum available space has been occupied.
