Replace old IGU with vacuum glass = less heating!

The vacuum glasses Fineo and Fineo Hybrid are supplied ready for installation and can be installed in many of the existing windows by glaziers and window manufacturers with just a few hours of work. With up to 0.45 W/(m2K), the vacuum glasses are highly heat-insulating.

Cold draughts, which occur near windows with outdated insulating glass, are now a thing of the past: The interior pane surface of Fineo vacuum glasses remains close to the room temperature despite the winter cold. This ensures more cosiness and comfort, a good argument in sales talks with end customers.

Just replacing the glass means less effort

Technically outdated window glazing allows precious heat to escape and thus wastes energy and money. However, the replacement of complete windows for energy-efficient refurbishment is structurally very complex and often not even necessary if the frame and profiles of the window are still in good condition.

Replacement with vacuum glass does not cause any soiling or subsequent work on the facade or in the room (no plastering, no painting).

EuroWindoor President Verena Oberrauch: "We view mandatory measures favourably!"

This is where replacing glass with vacuum glass becomes interesting. The European manufacturer of vacuum glass Fineo has now trained and certified installation partners for professional glass replacement.

And this is how it is done

First, the old windows are inspected and measured by the Fineo partner company.

In the second appointment, the old insulating glass is cleanly and quickly removed and replaced with the new vacuum insulating glass. The good existing frames are retained - because why throw away what still works well?

The replacement does not cause any soiling or subsequent work on the facade and in the room (no plastering, no painting) can be carried out in all conventional window profiles, says Fineo. Furthermore, glass replacement is sustainable.

Which Fineo vacuum glass is suitable?

Firstly, the monolithic Fineo (from 7 millimetres thick), which can be used to replace single glazing in older or historic buildings. With a Ug-value of 0.7 W/(m2K), this insulates as well as an average triple glazing.

On the other hand, the new Fineo Hybrid, which consists of a Fineo vacuum unit and a counter pane of standard float glass to replace outdated double-glazed insulating units with a perfect fit. With a Ug-value as low as 0.45 W/(m2K), it actually insulates better than high-quality triple glazing.

Vacuum glass technology also improves sound insulation, daylight transmission and the solar energy gains that can be achieved in winter, according to the glass manufacturer.

Take advantage of the government subsidy for glass replacement

As part of the federal subsidy for efficient buildings, glass replacement is supported by the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) with a subsidy rate of 15 per cent (including energy advice for residential buildings).
