TU Delft's Bucky Lab: A light diffusing louvre system

Most sun shading systems try to block the sunlight by reducing the amount of incoming light. This project is intended as an alternative solution to protect the facade from unwanted solar load gain, while maintaining high levels of interior comfort thanks to the specific fabric.

The lightweight structure is inspired by the ribbed structure of an aircraft wing. With the transparent material of which it is made, it allows to obtain the maximum performance with the minimum visual encumbrance.
