The building envelope of the DKV Mobility extension consists of natural stone, anodized aluminum, and glass, and its design echoes that of the neighboring existing building. An essential component of this are the large-format facade glass – manufactured and supplied by ClimaPlusSecurit partner Doering Glass.

Almost 640 floor-to-ceiling window elements up to 3 m high are used, with alternating fixed and 12 cm opening sashes. At the heart of the system is the highly functional triple glazing with Cool-Lite SKN 165 solar control glass from Saint-Gobain Glass. It allows a high level of daylight to enter while reducing heat radiation.

Compared to conventional glazing, the room temperature can be reduced by up to 5 °C in summer without compromising light yield (g value: 0.29) – this saves energy costs in the long term. The color-neutral coating ensures a natural light effect in the interior and a subtle exterior effect on the facade. For employees, this means bright, friendly rooms with a high quality of stay.
In addition, numerous glass elements meet high safety requirements: they are equipped with a P5A classification and an alarm loop in the center pane, which immediately triggers an alarm in the event of glass breakage. In addition, increased sound insulation of up to 49 dB has been achieved – an important aspect for comfortable working in an inner-city location.
With the new extension, DKV Mobility combines functionality, sustainability, and architectural quality – not least in terms of facade glazing.
