Glasstec 2022

Simonswerk and Colcom: Joint appearance at glasstec trade fair

For over 60 years, Colcom has combined Italian design with expertise in the development, manufacture and distribution of door hinges and hardware systems for all-glass doors and installations.

The Colcom portfolio includes self-closing hydraulic door hinges, shower fittings, door fittings (interior & exterior) and locking systems. At glasstec, the manufacturer will present an overview of its glass systems and, for the first time, the new Biloba Duo door hinge for heavy glass doors weighing up to 150 kg.

The new model can be used for glass thicknesses up to 19.5 mm and for door widths up to 1200 mm. Simonswerk, a leading full-range supplier of hinge systems for residential, commercial and entrance doors, will give an overview of the product variety and application areas of its hinge systems for doors.

Tectus Glass hinge system expanded

With the Tectus hardware system, Simonswerk offers an aesthetic and functional solution for the flush installation of all-glass doors. Glass door leaf, frame, hinge and locking system are all on one level, creating a minimalist design and transparency. In this way, generous glazing, which serves to provide acoustic protection in offices or private living areas, for example, and creates targeted views in and out, retains its aesthetic quality.

With the new Tectus Glas TEG 415 2D model, flush-fitting all-glass doors with a glass thickness of 12 - 14 mm made of ESG and LSG with a load value of 100 kg can be installed.

Focus on hydraulic hinges

A highlight of the Colcom development department is the patented hydraulic concept, which was created as a further development and synthesis between automatic doors and hydraulic door closers. With the product development of self-closing hydraulic door hinges, the company created a new product group and applied for the first patent for it as early as 2006.

Today, self-closing hydraulic hinges are the combined further development of automatic and mechanical door hinges. This idea has given rise to door hinges for interior and exterior doors as well as for shower cubicles.

At glasstec, new hydraulic hinges in a minimalist design for exterior doors will be on show.

Colcom products for glass doors

Biloba Duo is the new series of hydraulic hinges for heavy doors. The damper, the strong brake and a load value of up to 150 kg are features of the hinges. With the hinge system, door widths of up to 1200 mm are possible with glass thicknesses of 8 - 19.5 mm. The slim hinge has no visible screws and is also suitable for doors with rebates. The integrated hydraulic mechanism ensures that the doors close automatically.

In addition, the models of the Biloba JC series with the variant for glass walls (8010JC), the glass-glass version (8015JC) and two Biloba EVO models (P35E and P20E) will be presented at glasstec. The hinge with integrated door closer was designed for doors with rebate profile.

The fitting can be easily fixed with P35E profiles and enables easy and flexible alignment of the door elements for fitters. A constant braking effect and the adjustable end swing for all door opening angles up to 180 degrees round off the system.

Colcom will also be showing the Collio model, a new door hinge for lightweight doors with a damper and automatic closer. It was developed for framed doors and partition walls and is matched to P35E profiles. Also on show is the Biloba Evo Vela variant, a concealed hydraulic hinge specially designed for rebated doors.
