Hegla: Thin glass and la dolce vita

Thin glass is one of the hot topics in the industry, including thin triple IGU with a 0.5 mm thin center pane. Hegla has optimized the cutting process for this. “A high degree of automation and customized processes ensure process reliability here,” says Hegla Managing Director Bernhard Hötger. “Everything else is taken care of by a special cutting head that achieves a homogeneous cut edge with high edge strength.”

After automatic transfer to a fan car, insulating glass with TPS spacers is then produced on a Glaston line, for example. A newly developed cutting table for LSG will also be on display at Vitrum. “We have combined the best of AdvaLam and ProLam and raised it to an even higher level,” says Hötger. “The result is a system that autonomously processes functions in fully automatic mode with maximum throughput and at regular intervals.”

Lasers can produce bird protection glass, but they can do even more. The “UC-Stamp line” will be on display for the first time at Vitrum. Hegla boraident will be presenting its new laser marking system.

In conjunction with automatic glass transfer, this creates a glass flow that is generated by the system and specified by the machine. With an optional laser diode heating system, productivity can be increased by 20 per cent.

Laser technology will also be on display

Whether for bird protection, mobile phone permeability, or heating: laser processing adds value to standard glass. A bird protection pattern, for example, can be printed during production or later on the building. Laser finishing is carried out without damaging the glass surface. To do this, ceramic particles that are scratch-proof and weather-resistant are transferred to the glass. In addition, a laser edge coating is presented, in which the coating is removed with the highest optical quality without damaging the glass surface.

The “UC-Stamp line” is on display for the first time: Hegla boraident presents the new laser marking system, which is designed to facilitate entry into this technology with its light weight and smaller size.

Software: The new ERP system from Hegla Hanic

Hegla-Hanic will be showcasing the latest generation of its ERP system: “glass365”.

The latest generation of ERP: Hegla-Hanic is showcasing its new ERP system “glass365.” Based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, the Bochum-based software specialists have completely redesigned the previous ERP system. The software is device-independent, receives automatic upgrades, and is scalable to additional applications, products, and even multiple locations.

Add-ons are available in Dynamics App Source. Customer orders, for example, can be transferred to the system via data import or app. Among other things, an activatable AI is available that reads orders from email attachments in Office 365, for example.

After user approval, the data is transferred to the system, and evaluations are optionally made available or AI-supported marketing measures are suggested. Hegla-Hanic currently has a new MES/PPS in the starting blocks.

Additional systems and machines will also be presented at the Hegla booth.
