Strong response to the new direction: This year’s Vitrum concluded with over 6,800 visitors – 55 percent from abroad – and nearly 200 exhibitors, 30 percent of them international. Organised by GIMAV, the trade fair for machinery, equipment and technologies for glass processing once again underlined its importance to the global industry.
According to Lucia Masutti, General Manager of Vitrum, the 2025 edition “marked a new chapter – defined by innovation, collaboration and a broader understanding of the entire supply chain.” The new thematic approach, with its focus on technical training and market analysis, was well received by both exhibitors and visitors.
Four topics shaped the exhibition

 Vitrum
Vitrum 2025 was structured around four key areas: innovation, internationalisation, sustainability and education. During 42 specialist events, visitors gained insights into current developments in the glass industry, new manufacturing technologies and trends in education and research. Particular appreciation was given to the involvement of young professionals and students.
Partners of the exhibition included leading associations and institutions such as GIMAV, Assovetro, ATIV, Confindustria, Federmacchine and Stazione Sperimentale del Vetro, as well as international organisations like the ITA Agency, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, SACE and Simest. Academic input was provided by several Italian universities, including Venice, Turin, Padua and Trento.
Internationalisation and prospects for ‘Made in Italy’
The event also provided important momentum for the export of Italian glass products. Discussions focused in particular on trade relations with the United States – still the most important sales market despite tariff-related uncertainties – as well as on opportunities in Saudi Arabia and Morocco, where new construction and industrial sectors are driving demand.
Looking ahead to Vitrum 2027
GIMAV is already working with industry partners on preparations for the next edition. The goal is to build on successful collaborations, create new synergies and further strengthen the integration of the glass industry into international growth markets.
The next Vitrum will take place from 16 to 19 November 2027 at Fiera Milano.
