An essential component of the “Grünblick” building envelope are the glass railings from Glas Marte's GM Railing Uni system. They were modified several times for the project – including color-matched substructures and special screen-printed motifs. The system is characterized by its strutless design, which offers maximum transparency. The factory-prefabricated glass modules avoid stress peaks and enable clean, controlled installation.

The glass railing is based on a mounting profile with an adjustment block into which the glass element is hooked and screwed. This design allows for precise tolerance compensation and eliminates the need for glass drilling. Glas Marte offers several aluminum and steel substructures for this purpose to meet different construction requirements.
Installation under difficult conditions
The installation of the balustrade elements was particularly challenging: there was no scaffolding available, and the railing had to serve as fall protection during the construction phase. The substructures therefore had to be installed entirely from the inside of the balcony. In addition, the parapet was very low as a mounting surface, which left only limited space for the profiles.
Glas Marte responded to this with specially adapted mounting profiles. The position of the adjustment blocks was changed so that the glass elements could be aligned from the inside. At the same time, the adjustment elements were made more compact to facilitate installation. This individual adaptation is part of Glas Marte's corporate philosophy of tailoring technical systems to project-specific requirements.
Sliding glazing as wind and weather protection
In addition to the balustrades, a customized GM Toproll 15/24 sliding glass system was used. The frameless system was suspended from the ceiling as a skylight system. A specially developed floor rail served both as a combination profile for accommodating the floor covering and for connecting to the glass railing.
The system ensures a permanently precise glass position through a combination of structural bonding and mechanical bolt fastening. Around 500 m of sliding systems were installed. Depending on the installation situation, they offer the option of opening the glazing completely or partially – while providing a high level of protection against wind and weather.
The “Grünblick” project is a prime example of the combination of architectural ambition and technical detail work. The individually customized systems from Glas Marte – GM Railing Uni and GM Toproll 15/24 – show how functionality, safety, and design can be harmoniously combined in complex high-rise constructions.
