SageGlass for structural glazing facades:

Smart glass with a frameless all-glass look

In structural glazing facades, the glass panes are mounted - invisibly from the outside - on the interior facade end structure by means of anchors. With the SageGlass VARIO system, a certified construction variant is available for this purpose, which upgrades facades with an all-glass look to multifunctional and intelligent high-performance facades with energy-saving potential.

From the outside, the variable and easy-to-install system does not require any visible intermediate frames. External locking devices or cover plates on the joints of the glass panes are not necessary with SageGlass VARIO. The outer seal is achieved by a smooth-surface, permanent joint seal and is even suitable for skylights and sloped glazing. On the inside, the panes are mechanically fixed to a frame construction. For secure mounting, U-profiles are positioned in the glass edge seal. Retaining anchors are inserted into these to connect the glass to the interior frame structure at the rear.

Elegant solar shading solution for all-glass facades

SageGlass Vario can be designed with double glazing or triple glazing.

SageGlass Vario can be designed with double glazing or triple glazing.

In this way, SageGlass Vario allows modern all-glass architecture to be combined with the positive properties of switchable glass. The electrochromic coating is capable of independently controlling the heat input from solar radiation - completely silently and with constant transparency.

The optical connection to the external environment is unrestricted at all times. The tinting is infinitely variable and blocks UV radiation 100 % at all tinting levels. Even when not switched, the coating on the inside of the glass shields the sun's heat before it enters the building. This means that there is no need for external solar shading at all.

Reduced costs for lighting and air conditioning

Thanks to the natural lighting conditions and the efficient temperature regulation in the interior rooms, the intelligent glazing demonstrably reduces the costs for artificial lighting, heating and air conditioning. As a result, energy savings of up to 40 % can be achieved - the energy efficiency values are comparable to those of a double facade.

A variety of shapes - including trapezoid, parallelogram and triangle - as well as standard sizes between 25.4 cm and 150 cm x 300 cm can be realised.

Depending on the requirements, SageGlass Vario can be designed with double glazing or triple glazing. In addition, a variety of shapes - including trapezoid, parallelogram and triangle - as well as standard sizes between 25.4 cm and 150 cm x 300 cm can be realised.

The glass is available in various colours, e.g. blue, grey, green or bronze. For the perfect all-glass look, the colour of the outer glass pane can also be individually matched to the building project.

Certifications for performance

SageGlass Vario meets ETAG requirements for SSGK Type II systems and is approved for use in most European countries (ETA 10-0362).

According to the supplier, the system can be installed in all frame systems with certified screw-in holders. SageGlass offers architects and planners valuable support in the planning, tendering and execution phases. In addition, it is possible to have SageGlass calculate the energy performance of one's own project in cooperation with planning offices.
