Miika Äppelqvist is a Glaston man through and through: Born in 1981, the industrial engineer (MSc Industrial Engineering and Management) joined Glaston in 2013 and has held various key positions there: He was responsible for the Heat Treatment Technologies division and later took over as Senior Vice President of the Architecture business unit.

Most recently, Miika Äppelqvist was part of the Executive Leadership Team as Chief Solutions & Operations Officer, with overall responsibility for product development, supply chain and industrial operations.
With the appointment of Miika Äppelqvist as CEO, Glaston's Supervisory Board focuses on continuity while also seeking new momentum: Äppelqvist is regarded as a technically skilled strategist with a deep understanding of the market and customers.
In an interview with GW News editor Matthias Rehberger, he explains how Glaston will move forward, where he will focus his attention, and what opportunities he sees for glass processors despite the somewhat tense situation in the industry.
