Fineo vacuum insulating glass now with third-party verified EPD

Fineo Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are third-party verified documents that comply with EN 15804 + A2 (Sustainability of construction works - Environmental product declarations - Core rules for the product category of construction products) and ISO 14025 (Environmental labels and declarations - Type III environmental declarations - Principles and procedures). These provide objective data on the environmental impact throughout a product’s entire life cycle.

Such third-party verified EPDs allow an objective comparison of the environmental footprint of construction products using environmental impact indicators, such as their Global Warming Potential (GWP).

Outperforming double and triple IGUs

Among the EPD-verified Fineo products, the 8 mm Low Carbon configuration has a particularly low environmental footprint. The low-carbon variant is based on the Low Carbon Planibel glass range.

As a result, the cradle-to-gate GWP value of the 8 mm Low Carbon, covering the most impactful stages of the production - from raw materials extraction to the factory gate - is as low as 18,9 kg CO2 eq./m², allowing it to outperform many conventional double and triple glazing units.

Fineo also remains the only vacuum insulating glass to carry the CE marking.
