Lamilux: New flat roof window for sophisticated design

Sophisticated design in a number of variants: the redevelopment of the Lamilux Glass Skylight FE represents a new milestone in product development at Lamilux, according to the company. Architects, builders and building users benefit from an innovative frame profile and sophisticated design features with a wealth of additional benefits, the manufacturer claims. The skylight has already won the German Design Award 2019 even before its market launch.

The appearance of the new flat roof window is consistent throughout, with no connecting elements to spoil the view. This is because the production of the skylight involved a new joining technology, allowing the frame sections to be joined at the corners without any visible screw fittings or welding seams. Lamilux also uses structural glazing technology, in which the glass pane and frame are bonded rather than clamped. This allows rainwater and dirt to simply run off all four sides of the flat roof window's smooth surface.

The element's frame is made up of three interlocking components that map the angles of the Cheops pyramid at their upwards-extending outer edges.

The integration of all drives, power adapters, cables and other components into the frame of the skylight is also invisible. A look at the element inside the building reveals no motors or concealer panels. As a result, the flat roof window is not only a highlight for the building's interior design, but thanks to its simple connections, it is also especially popular with installers. The familiar and extensive portfolio of drives is still available, however.

Wide variety of shapes and colours

The design of the new Lamilux Glass Skylight FE can also be adapted to any construction project's overall architectural concept. This degree of design freedom comes from the range of customised special shapes and a broad portfolio of glazing and sizes up to 2.5 metres, as well as an extensive choice of exterior and interior colours for the skylight.

The element's frame is made up of three interlocking components that map the angles of the Cheops pyramid at their upwards-extending outer edges: a precise 51.8 degrees contributes to the glass element's classical aesthetic design.
