Cristalerías Ramos was founded in 1984 – at a key stage for the industry, when insulating glass was becoming increasingly important in Spain. Since then, the glass supplier has continuously invested in technology and quality.
“We were pioneers in double glazing in Spain,” explains Carlos Ramos, owner and Managing Director. “In 2003, we integrated a Tamglass ProE tempering furnace and started manufacturing ESG. This was followed in 2008 by a complete laminating line with PVB and autoclave for LSG, including digital printing. This enabled us to cover the entire glass processing process in-house.”

Today, Ramos operates three sites in the south of Madrid, with 100 employees and a production area of 8,000 square metres. The company is one of the top 10 glass processors in Spain and specializes in solutions for facade construction, interior design as well as special projects.
systron technology as a strategic investment
In February 2025, Ramos commissioned the new systron 5025proHD + WM – a modern machining center with waterjet.
“The decision to go with systron was not an immediate one,” says Ramos. “After several years of searching, our visit to systron in 2023 confirmed our assessment: a family-run company with a clear vision for the future, a professional team, and innovative technology.” The Ramos team was accompanied throughout by Tecnocrisa, systron's Spanish sales partner.
Completely new possibilities opened up
Since it was commissioned at the Spanish glass finishing company, the system has brought decisive advantages: “We can now implement applications that were not possible before – especially with special formats or decorative designs.”
The combination of waterjet precision and the patented water cushion makes it possible to process complex glass, large formats, and coated glass panes with the highest quality. “The improvements in the end product, speed, and dimensional accuracy are very clear,” emphasizes Carlos Ramos.
Efficient integration and smooth operation
The system is currently running in single-shift operation at full capacity and is fully integrated into the production flow.
Despite limited space, integration went smoothly. “Thanks to the training our employees received in advance, we were able to start production right from day one. In addition to the systron technicians, the Tecnocrisa team was also on site to provide support throughout the training and commissioning phase. This made the transition to live operation much easier – and gave us a lot of confidence in the new technology.”
And the service? “Excellent. High availability, fast response times, efficient spare parts logistics. In addition, we are in direct contact with systron via remote support.”

A clear strategy for the future
Carlos Ramos remains committed to continuous improvement. “In 2025 and 2026, we will further expand our capacities and introduce new cutting-edge technologies – such as smart glass, XXL formats, and even more sustainable solutions.”
Sustainability is a key issue here: “We work with suppliers who deliver glass with a high recycled content and are continuously optimizing our processes to reduce our carbon footprint.”
And the partnership with systron will continue, according to Managing Director Ramos: “We will continue to work together on projects that advance the industry. systron has our full trust and support to develop innovative solutions in the future.”
