Jumbo XXL IGU line for AGC Interpane in Bavaria

The AGC Interpane plant in Plattling, southern Germany, produces high-quality semi-finished glass products and insulating glass. The basis is coated glass up to 18 m x 3.21 m. These extra-long glass elements can be provided with various solar control layers or with iplus thermal insulation layers. With the latest IG line from Glaston, even XXL formats can be produced automatically.

Solar carving: A tower built with the sun in mind

The twelve-story office building with 145,000 square feet of floor space was designed based on a concept called "Solar Carving": The course of the sun within one day was analysed in detail. Then they identified some parts of the building, "cut" them out and closed the gaps with sloping, polygonal glass surfaces.
