Sebastian Schmidt and Dominik Waldeyer were appointed as new board members by the AGC Interpane supervisory board. Sebastian Schmidt has been with Interpane since 2000 and, as Managing Director, headed the Belgern and Wipperfürth processed sites for more than a decade. His previous responsibilities will be transferred to newcomer and future Managing Director Dr.-Ing. Jan Wennemer from June 2023.
Dominik Waldeyer has been with the group in various capacities since 2006 and has been the company's finance director since 2015.
What are the goals of the new board members?
The new board members Sebastian Schmidt and Dominik Waldeyer are confident of further expanding market shares for AGC Interpane and continuing the growth course.
The group has only recently taken over the management of AGC Mirest (France) from the new owner and is now rapidly integrating this company into the group structures: "The expertise we have gained over decades in the production and finishing of float glass, our local market proximity, but also our strong international project business put us in a good position for this," says Sebastian Schmidt.
Schmidt also sees future economic advantages in the group's clear sustainability orientation: "In many parts of the world, it is a socio-political consensus that sustainable economic activity and living are becoming indispensable. How well and quickly companies manage to bring sustainable products and outputs to the market that are returned to the cycle in the best possible way will determine success or failure. Our industry already has a great product with which we are part of the solution. Glass is the only building material that enables insulation and solar energy gains, with an excellent balance. At the same time, we face enormous efforts to reduce 'energy payback time' and achieve CO2-neutral manufacturing."
AGC's acquisition of Interpane Glas Industrie AG offers both companies the opportunity to combine their strengths and further develop and exploit synergies, he added.
