Interview with Johannes Driessen of Hueck

"International markets want SG facades"

The Lüdenscheid-based aluminium system house has now extended the successful Hueck Trigon FS 040/050/060 facade construction to include the Trigon FS 050/060 SG structural glazing construction, especially with international markets in mind. According to Johannes Driessen, Product Manager Facade at Hueck, the new Trigon Structural Glazing (SG) system not only meets the highest demands in terms of thermal insulation, burglar resistance and sound insulation, but the SG facade also allows narrow face widths from 50 mm, with a glass joint of 22 mm.

The Hueck designers have also designed the new facade to be very flexible in terms of load-bearing capacity. With coordinated construction depths from 50 to 250 mm, the new all-glass facade can be customised according to the modular principle. Sophisticated statics allow filling weights of up to 800 kg. This means that large pane sizes of up to 3000 × 5000 mm can be realised, as well as 2500 × 3300 mm for the fall protection.

Here is our conversation with Johannes Driessen:

GW-News: Why have you now developed a Trigon structural glazing facade?

Johannes Driessen: Structural glazing facades are standard in the international project business. And we had many enquiries about this. In addition, larger glass formats are also desired there. Trigon makes it possible to install 3 × 5 m glass panes. With coordinated construction depths of 50 to 250 mm, the new all-glass facade can be customised according to the modular principle, and up to 800 kg. What's more: Trigon can be used to create very delicate facades, and that's what architects are looking for.

GW-News: And what about facade and metal builders, what do they appreciate about Trigon?

And here the Hueck Trigon'FS 060 SG as transom-mullion variant (face width 60 mm). The system can accommodate glass formats up to 3000 × 5000 mm.

The companies like to work with Hueck systems because they are easy to work with, even on the building site. The metalworker does not have to rethink and he can always use the same accessories such as gaskets etc. This makes it easier in everyday practice. This simply makes it easier in everyday practice. In addition, the compatibility of the Hueck systems allows many combinations with windows/doors from other Hueck ranges.

GW-News: What services do you offer?

We provide metalworkers with a comprehensive production catalogue and a planning folder. This enables him not only to simply include the digital data in his facade planning, but also to carry out static pre-dimensioning. This enables him to write a suitable offer more quickly. And we also provide all planning information digitally for planners.

GW-News: Where is Trigon SG used?

The systems are used in many medium-sized projects, such as schools, office buildings, etc., and our windows and doors can be easily integrated into these. Trigon can also be used to implement larger projects, as is desired for international markets. For such large projects, we offer appropriate assistance, because not everything is off the peg there, which is why we also provide special profiles.
