New float now operational in Luxembourg

The new, highly efficient float glass production facility at the Guardian Glass plant in Bascharage is now in operation following a successful cold tank repair. The new furnace is an important milestone for Guardian. Energy efficiency has been improved by around 25% and emissions reduced.

Hydrogen is an important piece of the puzzle in making Guardian Glass' float production more 'green'.

Cradle to Cradle certification renewed for glass made in Europe

Guardian Glass has renewed its Bronze level Cradle to Cradle certification for its float, coated and laminated glass products. This relates to the glass produced in the European plants.

The glass products of the new "Guardian Sun" series can be individually adapted to the requirements of different climate zones. The use of optimally matched glass thus enables a comfortable home in all seasons.

New solar control glass for residential buildings

At glasstec 2022, glass manufacturer Guardian presented the new Guardian Sun family, whose glasses are designed to provide greater comfort in residential buildings in all seasons. The new glasses can be individually adapted to the requirements of the respective region or climate zone.

Guardian Glass introduces a new anti-reflective glass

Guardian Glass has developed a new glass product called Clarity Neutral: It is an anti-reflective glass that has even improved its anti-reflective properties over its previous version.  

The current investment is part of the plan initiated last year with the merging of the two Luxembourg production sites.

Built as a tea clipper, where speed to market was critical, it was the combination of sail and hull form which gave Cutty Sark her edge.

On July 6, Guardian Glass started full production on a technologically advanced new glass coater at its second facility in Czestochowa, Poland.

The cooldown at the Dudelange site is part of the merger of the two Luxemburg-based plants.

Following consultation with the staff delegations of its plants in Bascharage and Dudelange (both in Luxembourg), Guardian Glass is moving forward with the accelerated cool down of the Dudelange floats.

Guardian Glass Europe has recently announced that it has attained Bronze level Cradle to Cradle certification for three of its product families – float, coated and laminated glass – manufactured at eight of its European plants.

The Guardian Sense glass is available in dimensions of up to 2.25 by 1.65 metres.
