Thin fire-resistant glass using vacuum glass

An innovation for more resource protection and higher energy efficiency is the combination of Pyrobel fire-resistant glass with Fineo vacuum glass. The new combination with Fineo vacuum glass enables slimmer and lighter structures that let in more daylight and offer thermal insulation of 0.6 to 0.7 W/(m2K).

The company showed several variants: Pyrobel 16 Fineo 8 is a superstructure that is only 24 mm thin and has an excellent Ug-value of 0.7 W/(m2K) according to EN 673, which at the same time ensures room closure (EI30) and high sound insulation (Rw = 43 dB).

Very large formats are also possible

Even more thermal insulation with the same fire protection performance is offered by the high-end construction Pyrobel 16 EG Fineo Hybrid. With a thickness of 39 millimetres, it achieves a Ug value of 0.6 W/(m2K). The sound insulation value (Rw) is 42 decibels.

Further, the pre-stressed Pyrobel-T, which is available in very large dimensions up to 2000 x 4500 mm. With a daylight transmission of TL = 87 per cent, it creates safety and a high level of comfort for the building's occupants in daily use. In case of fire, it offers reliable room closure and thermal insulation up to class EI60, protection against radiation up to EW120 and high impact resistance according to EN 12600.

Load-bearing fire-resistant glass partitions

Also of interest were products of the Pyrobel Vision Line, where load-bearing glass partitions can be implemented without disturbing mullions. The glass panes can be positioned "edge to edge" and actually across corners and are separated only by a narrow fire-resistant silicone joint and an intumescent strip.
