Nobu Hotel Warsaw:

Timeless elegance meets modern design

The exclusive 5-star hotel with 117 rooms and suites is located in Warsaw’s cultural Mokotów district. Construction work on the 21,8-million-euro project began in 2017, and the hotel opened its doors to guests from around the world in August 2020.

Decisive for the appearance of the Nobu Hotel are above all the generous glass surfaces, which provide plenty of daylight. The MB-SR50N curtain and transom wall system by Aluprof was used, among others, which ensures that the impression of a smooth glass wall with very narrow lines runs through it from the outside. The curved profiles and elegant arches could be realised without any problems.

Optimal noise insulation

The Aluprof sliding door system MB-Skyline was also installed here. "Matching the minimalist look of the facade, our sliding doors with concealed frames based on narrow profiles were used ", says Bożena Ryszka from Aluprof (www.aluprof.com). "Doors made with this system offer the user comfortable, thresholdless transitions to the balcony or terrace".

In spite of the large doors possible with the MB-Skyline MB-Skyline system, the slim construction conveys lightness and fineness, with narrow dividing lines creating the impression of almost uniform glazing. In addition, there are other window, door and fire protection systems from the manufacturer.

In order to optimally protect against street noise, the MB-SR50N OW window system from Aluprof was used, for example, which won over the planners with its very good sound insulation values. The architects opted for the MB-SR50N OW outward-opening window variant. The system is available in a top-hung version and as a parallel opening window.

One striking feature is the new building’s facade made of crushed glass which offers sufficient privacy without blocking the view of the Warsaw skyline.

One striking feature is the new building’s facade made of crushed glass which offers sufficient privacy without blocking the view of the Warsaw skyline.

An unusual, trapezoidal glass structure with offset floors arose in Warsaw, where the twelfth hotel of the chain was built. Particularly striking is the new building’s facade made of crushed glass which offers the discerning clientèle sufficient privacy without having to forego the view of the Warsaw skyline.

Traditional Japanese design combined with modern architecture

The hotel was built on the site of the former Rialto Hotel and is surrounded by historic buildings, which necessitated a cautious approach. The original Rialto was converted into a classic wing and extended with a contemporary new structure whose clear design makes reference to the Warsaw architectural style at the beginning of the last century. The modern part was designed by the Polish architecture firm Medusa Group and the design office Studio PCH from California. The result is a successful combination of the traditional Japanese touch with modern architecture.

Triple glazing and Swisspacers for high insulation

Large glazed areas in the interior ensure lots of daylight. The triple glazing from the company Vitroterm-Murów offers even more advantages: Equipped with warm edge spacer bars from Swisspacer (www.en.swisspacer.com), the best possible insulation is ensured.

The spacer bars of the Swiss manufacturer consist of a highly insulating plastic composite material which minimises the loss of heat. They therefore prevent cold bridges and heat loss in the area around the edge of the panes of insulating glass – this prevents heat entering the building’s interior in summer and keeps the cold out in winter. Condensation, mould and the health problems these cause do not stand a chance.

Although at first glance they represent a barely perceptible detail in the overall planning, the spacer bars are essential for saving energy as well as for pleasant temperatures inside the Nobu Hotel in Warsaw.
