Massive window for luxury hotel in Rovinj, Croatia

The speedy installation of the XXL glass pane was also made possible by sophisticated planning: long before the actual installation, Heavydrive Managing Director Günter Übelacker had begun to develop the appropriate installation solution for the luxury hotel.

By working closely with the client and testing various scenarios, a tailor-made approach was found to efficiently carry out the installation at airy heights.

The challenges of the site situation were high. The XXL glass pane had to be placed on the waterfront at a height of 19 metres. The facade opening was not directly accessible, so the glass pane had to be transported across the building. This is where the LSG 6000 KMH came into play, one of the largest vacuum suction units on the market.

The LSG 6000 KMH is light, flexible and easy to set up. With 20 suction plates, it can safely handle glass panes of up to 6 tonnes, with a length of up to 24 metres and a width of up to 3.2 metres. The unit also allows the construction element to be rotated vertically and swivelled through 90 degrees by radio remote control.

These functionalities not only enable precise installation, but also allow glass panels to be inserted flat into frames, giving architects more freedom in designing facades. The Heavydrive LSG 6000 KMH was thus able to master the technical complexity of the installation in Rovinj.

What does the LSG 6000 KMH vacuum suction unit from Heavydrive do?

With its load capacity of up to 6000 kg, the LSG 6000 KMH was specially developed to handle large, heavy glass, glass panes and facade elements safely and precisely. The system can move construction elements from a size of 6123 x 1900 mm up to a maximum of 20,073 x 4200 mm for wall glazing and up to 19,073 x 3200 mm for roof glazing. The LSG 6000 KMH is designed for weights of up to 6 tons.

A radio remote control allows glass panes and actually completely assembled facade elements to be turned vertically and swivelled by 90 degrees. This function allows the LSG 6000 KMH from Heavydrive to be used in many fields of application.
