Softsolution and LiteSentry

These quality management systems save time and money

Softsolution and LiteSentry offer sophisticated and customised scanners and inspection systems with a wide range of applications for quality assurance to glass processors and IGU manufacturers around the world.

In cooperation with well-known machine manufacturers, exciting further developments in QM systems and software applications have been developed in recent years. AI is used for defect categorisation, archive data is available for statistical analysis in the management console, operators store customer-specific quality settings and 3D images of glass with optical distortions are available in real time.

As a provider of scanner-based inspection systems such as LineScanner and CulletScanner, the Austrian manufacturer Softsolution delivers complete systems for glass manufacturers and processors. Individual solutions and complex, time-consuming installations are no longer in keeping with the times and are therefore a thing of the past.

The integration of scanners into insulating glass lines has been established for years. Softsolution's vertical LineScanners inspect both individual glass panes and entire insulating glass units. The TS4000 sensor is easy to install and works without a LineScanner. It provides information on glass thickness, coating side and coating type at any position in the processing process.

More and more customers are focusing their inspection on the finished IGU. Corresponding inspection systems such as the LineScanner are therefore installed directly after the press on the IG line.

Inspection for ESG/TVG

As a result of the merger of Softsolution and LiteSentry, even more quality inspection solutions will be available to fabricators.

In Europe, quality control for flat glass is very common in the area of surface defects and geometry measurement. However, more and more QM managers are expanding their field of activity to include the inspection of technical data with regard to the standards and requirements of facade manufacturers.

In the case of ESG/TVG, this makes it possible to detect deviations that occur due to recipe errors or setting errors of the production equipment. These operator-controlled incorrect settings often result in a poor quality of the end product.

Scanner premiere at glasstec 2022

Following the merger of Softsolution and LiteSentry, the strengthened and enlarged team have jointly provided information on innovative quality inspections for flat glass at glasstec in Düsseldorf in September. For the very first time, the new Osprey 10 Complete was on display there. Visitors were able to learn more about the testing for glass distortions, which are usually checked as PeakToValley distance. There is a variety of measuring devices, positions and specifications for this.

Here, the visual effect is particularly important, because the optical effect can differ significantly for the same PeakToValley measurement. The Osprey 10 provides the optical distortion at each position for the entire glass pane in millidiopters [mD].
