Finstral:

Capacity expansion and insulating glass production at the highest level

It is said to be the most modern and sustainable insulating glass production line in Europe. And in on top of everything, a new window production line has been added. All in all, the investment amounts to 20 million euros.

"Because the demand for Finstral products is growing more and more, we are expanding our capacities. We are investing most heavily in the Oppeano plant. Since 2008, a very committed team, now 100 strong, has come together here. And we are very optimistic that we will now be able to attract another 50-60 new colleagues to Finstral in the region," says Florian Oberrauch, Vice-President on the Board of Directors and responsible for production.

Efficient production processes and optimisation algorithms

In Oppeano, a new hall is currently being built on 10,000 m² for the "most modern and sustainable insulating glass production plant in Europe", according to the company. The aim is to use efficient production processes and optimisation algorithms to keep the use of energy and materials there even lower than in the Finstral plants in Scurelle and Gochsheim (Germany), which the company counts among the most modern insulating glass production facilities in Europe. The additional extension of the existing photovoltaic systems covers the factory's normal electricity consumption. Heat pumps are used instead of gas heating. And the new window production line will be installed on free space in the existing halls.
