For three major projects in the Washington, D.C. area a customer ordered a VSG 2500 with a load capacity of 2.5 tonnes as well as the powerful vacuum suction unit VSG 3500K for the use of extremely large panes weighing 3.2 tonnes.

The VSG 2500 was shipped by air freight, the VSG 3500 by sea freight. But no matter which transport route they choose, the Heavydrive logistics system is well organised and the competent staff ensure that everything runs smoothly and quickly. Heavydrive is in constant contact with the local customs office and takes care of everything from order acceptance to packaging and customs clearance in the shortest possible time.

The company's modern packaging system was used to transport the glass assembly equipment by container. For this purpose, the VSG 3500 K with machine dimensions of 336 x 204 x 182 cm is placed in a specially manufactured wooden crate with external dimensions of 365 x 230 x 215 cm.

The goods to be transported are sealed in aluminium composite foil with added desiccants. This allows storage for up to six months. In addition, all Heavydrive crates comply with the American IPPC standard.

The material is heat-treated so that no germs or pathogens are transported in the wood. Securely packed, the vacuum suction system is then placed on a specially made pallet. Depending on the mode of transport, whether by air or by sea, the Heavydrive staff take into account the respective regulations and dimension requirements.
