Installing lifting-lowering glass fronts on Jumeirah Palm Island in Dubai

For the installation of the glass elements, which weigh 6.3 tons and 2.4 tons and measure 15651 x 3161 millimetres and 5841 x 3161 millimetres respectively, the Heavydrive LSG 7000 KMH suction unit with a load capacity of 7000 kilograms and a span of 13 metres as well as an MKZ chain hoist were used. The smaller LSG 900 KS suction unit made it possible to guide and insert the glass panes safely on site. Due to the distance between the suspension of the suction unit and the glass surface, the 800 millimetre deep projection could be bridged without any problems.

The order was handled by Heavydrive GmbH Switzerland, the subsidiary in Freienbach. The equipment was delivered from the German headquarters in Tapfheim. As with all orders, Heavydrive offered the customer the all-round carefree package: the equipment was securely packed and loaded and the experienced team of experts took care of the freight and customs clearance. Directly after the assignment in Dubai, the Heavydrive equipment was returned to Tapfheim by container.
