Vitro Architectural Glass has launched Sungate ThermL glass, a new low-emissivity (low-e) coating engineered for use on the interior surface of a typical one-inch insulating glass unit that reduces heat transfer and dramatically improves U-values when paired with a Solarban solar control low-e glass by Vitro on the second surface.

Over 1000 birds die in 24 hours at a building in Chicago

At least 1000 birds collided with a building in Chicago on 4 and 5 October and died while migrating south to their wintering grounds, according to articles in the Washington Post and the Guardian. Retrofitting with bird-screening glass should now be high on the agenda here.
