Syscad Software: The dual alternative

But now Belgian software designer Bricsys has quietly set out to offer alternatives. Under the name BricsCAD this CAD program offers the features 2D detailing, 3D modelling, sheet steel processing and building modelling (BIM) within the same file format, namely DWG.

Thanks to metalwork application Syscad, functions for film, insulation and sheet metal are now available in BricsCAD. Syscad also covers drawing with profile system blocks from various suppliers like Schüco, Hueck or Wicona etc. All in all, more than 570 profile systems from over 50 suppliers are supported. This is the most comprehensive CAD library for work with profile systems for windows, doors and façades.

What’s more, accessories like overhead door closers from Geze are quickly available as intelligent blocks and can be labelled for audit-compliance. Lightweight steel construction is still supported too. With the new interface to the market-leading program for costing in window, door and façade construction – LogiKal from Orgadata – BricsCAD has now come full circle.

Items from LogiKal are imported to Syscad. Slices are generated from Syscad and changed items are automatically updated. Patterns are exported from the software to LogiKal. The popular AutoCAD will continue to be supported by Syscad. The designer is also free to choose the basic program.
