Glass balustrades for wooden buildings

When building with wood, a number of things have to be taken into account: Among other things, it must not be permanently damp, otherwise it will rot. And it changes its length with fluctuations in humidity, which are common in outdoor areas. A product that is integrated into wooden buildings must take this into account.

Wood and glass can form a harmonious combination, and this is precisely why Glas Marte has the GM Railing glass railing in its range.

Wood and glass can form a harmonious combination, and this is precisely why Glas Marte has the GM Railing glass railing in its range.

This is precisely what the GM Railing glass railing takes into account: the manufacturer joins the glass and the profiles at the factory to form a fully sealed glass module. According to the developers, this prevents moisture and dirt from entering in the first place. The drainage of the railing is further supported by an optional second sealing level.

Glass railing installation without wedges

During installation, the otherwise frequently used wedges are not used and therefore cannot slip. This prevents tension in the glass.

Should there ever be any slight changes in the timber substructure, the Glas Marte glass balustrades can be easily readjusted. Furthermore, the glass balustrades always return to their original position after a load, as the supplier emphasises.

In addition to technology, Glas Marte also focuses on design. The balustrades are characterised by an all-glass view, without any vertical pillars or uprights.

Like all fall protection systems from Glas Marte, GM Railing is also easy to assemble.

Equally important to the developers was simple and safe installation: thanks to prefabrication, the glass module only has to be hooked into the substructure attached to the building.

Separation of the trades precisely defined

This modular principle also has the advantage of a clear separation of services between the individual trades. Accordingly, responsibility and competences on the building site are clearly defined.
