Merritt Gaunt Takes the Helm at Guardian Glass

Merritt Gaunt has been appointed the new President and CEO of Guardian Industries, part of the Koch Group. In this role, he assumes leadership of Guardian Glass, one of the world’s largest glass manufacturers. He succeeds Ron Vaupel, who held the position from 2014 onward.

Gaun joined Guardian in 2013 as Managing Director of Corporate Development and subsequently held a number of operational leadership roles over the years.
Jeff Ramsey, Executive Vice President at Koch, commented: “During his time with us, Merritt Gaunt has proven himself to be a strategic and highly effective leader. Guardian Glass is entering a period of transformation, opening a new chapter as it positions itself as the preferred global provider of glass solutions.”

Most recently, Gaunt served as Executive Vice President at Guardian Industries, where he was responsible for the company’s business development and supply chain strategies. Prior to joining Guardian, he spent ten years gaining experience in finance, marketing, and business development at other Koch Group companies.

“Guardian Glass is discovering new ways to build, design, and inspire with glass. Together, we are addressing the complex challenges of the glass industry,” said Gaunt. “Our team includes more than 6,700 employees across five continents, and I am excited about what we can achieve to deliver new solutions for our customers and to continue building preferred partnerships with our suppliers and customers.”
