Lanserhof on Sylt with IGUs from Flachglas Wernberg

Thatched roofs and lots of glass for a good atmosphere

In close cooperation with the monument and nature conservation authorities, the former officers' home from the 1930s was converted as the focal point of the entire Lanserhof ensemble.

The existing building with its overhanging thatched roof serves as a model for the other buildings in the ensemble. Taken together, Lanserhof Sylt has the largest thatched roof in Europe at 7100 m2.

In addition to the main building with 55 guest rooms and a bathing area including an indoor and outdoor saltwater pool, the Lanserhof ensemble also includes the Diagnostic House and three holiday homes with a unique waterfront location.

The aim of the building project was to create a particularly sustainable and healthy building in respect of nature. Natural materials and rooms in subtle colours are the basis of the architectural idea. The materials used, such as insulating materials, varnishes and paints, are ecologically and health tested.

In addition, there is selected glass in the façade. The chosen insulating solar control glass - manufactured by Flachglas Wernberg, a member of the Flachglas MarkenKreis - also contributes to the architects' supergreen philosophy. Here, the Infrastop Brillant 66/33 solar control insulating glass creates a sense of well-being, ensuring bright, light-flooded rooms.

Solar control insulating glass for good summer heat protection

With the high light transmission of 67% of the Infrastop Brillant glass, it ensures brightness in all rooms and at the same time provides good summer heat protection.

The total energy transmittance (g) is ≤ 36%, so that overheating of the rooms in the summer months is effectively counteracted. And in winter, the Ug value of 1.0 W/(m2 K) ensures sufficient comfort.
