Hörmann: Insulated industrial sectional door

Energy efficiency is becoming increasingly important for economic and ecological reasons. Building owners therefore demand better thermal insulation not only for facades but also for door solutions. In line with this requirement, Hörmann offers the SPU 67 Thermo industrial sectional door. It has up to 84 percent better thermal insulation than doors with 42 mm thick sections and is therefore not only suitable for use in food and cold logistics, but also as an energy-efficient bottom edge for other commercial buildings.

Bottom edge to minimise temperature losses

Doors in the exterior facade in particular must have good thermal insulation so that no valuable energy is lost when closed. This is why Hörmann offers the SPU 67 Thermo industrial sectional door together with a bottom edge that minimises temperature losses. The door has PU-foamed steel sections with a depth of 67 mm. This, together with the standard thermal break of the sections, ensures efficient thermal insulation. For example, with a door size of 5000 mm x 5000 mm and optional ThermoFrame – a plastic profile that thermally separates the frame and the brickwork - the SPU 67 Thermo door achieves a U value of up to 0.51 W/(m²∙K). In addition, the thermal break between the exterior and interior side of the steel sections minimises the formation of condensation water on the inside of the door.

The optional ThermoFrame frame connection thermally separates the frame and the brickwork so that the already excellent thermal insulation of the SPU 67 Thermo can be increased by a further 21 percent.

Most energy is lost when doors are opened. Therefore, the SPU 67 Thermo can be equipped with a wicket door with trip-free threshold for the passage of persons. The stainless steel threshold rail is only up to 10 mm high depending on the door size, and reduces the risk of tripping and makes it easier to wheel things through. According to the manufacturer, this extra-flat version is only available from Hörmann. The standard clear passage width of 905 mm – in conjunction with other prerequisites – fulfils the requirements of barrier-free construction and an escape route. This means that planners do not have to plan an additional opening for an escape route at the construction site. The wicket door also has a construction with thermal break.

Glazed aluminium door with a steel buttom section

The SPU 67 Thermo also matches the Hörmann SPU doorswith 42 mm depth. Depending on the requirements – for example in logistics halls with cooling and storage areas – the two different door types can also be used for a harmonious door view. In addition to the PU-foamed steel sectional doors, Hörmann offers further versions with a depth of 67 mm and correspondingly high thermal insulation properties.

The industrial sectional door ALR 67 Thermo from Hörmann has 67 mm thick sections and glazing profiles with thermal break. It thus combines very good thermal insulation with maximum transparency.

The APU 67 Thermo is a glazed aluminium door with a steel bottom section that brings a lot of light into buildings on the one hand and is easy to service and repair on the other due to the robust bottom section, as individual sections can be replaced quickly and inexpensively in the event of damage. The completely glazed aluminium doors ALR 67 Thermo are used where maximum transparency and a modern appearance are required. The ALR 67 Thermo Glazing doors, equipped with real glass, have a high-quality effect, especially in sales areas such as car showrooms.
