Glas Trösch: Facade glass for Amsterdam

Zuidas is considered one of the most important business and financial districts in Amsterdam. Only a few minutes by bike from the historic city center and with access to the freeway and the airport, it is developing into a comprehensive urban center. Currently some office towers are redeveloped and get new a facade. In this, the glass from Switzerland plays an important role.

The glass from the Swiss producer is set in the atrium on the ground floor and the flush glass façade.

According to the design by the architects KCAP, the previously mono-functional office towers 2Amsterdam in the north are currently being rebuilt in such a way that they also comply with the new approach: A new hotel in the west tower will in future complement the neighboring office building.

The glass highlights the environmentally friendly nature of the building

In cooperation with Polypane, the manufacturer of the insulating glass, and De Groot en Visser, the company in charge of the metal construction, the Silverstar Combi Neutral 51/26 functional layer by Glas Trösch was used for the atrium on the ground floor and the flush glass facade.

The Silverstar Combi Neutral 51/26 glass facade at the west tower will be completed this year. The hotel in the east tower will follow by 2022. At a total area of 10,400 m², the glass facade is both functional and underscores the environmental awareness of the planners and building owners.
