Aluprof embellishes Lower Manhattan skyline

With the help of Aluprof, another prestigious project was recently completed in New York: the unique full-glass structure of the 125 Greenwich Street skyscraper in Lower Manhattan, the financial heart of the city. Building this skyscraper was only possible with the aluminum system MB-SE98 SG especially developed by the Polish manufacturer.

The 72-story building near the World Trade Center Memorial was designed by the architect Rafael Viñoly Beceiro, who also designed 432 Park Avenue in New York City, the tallest residential building in the world. For Viñoly's latest project, 125 Greenwich Street, Aluprof developed the unitized facade MB-SE98 SG. This unitized curtain wall system enables architects to build fully glazed constructions from the outside.

Rounded corners allowing a magnificent panoramic view

The glass is attached by means of structural sealant using the SSG technology. As provided for in the architectural design, the external wall has rounded corners, providing the dwellers with a magnificent panoramic view to the city. "The unusual construction allows a more flexible mix of residential units with a wide view over the city and the harbour", says the architect.

The tower provides 273 spacious apartments, studios and lofts, arranged by the famous London interior designers March & White. The residents of the attic also enjoy a private terrace and a swimming pool. With 125 Greenwich Street another building joins the New York skyline and uses Aluprof systems – along with 325 Lexington Avenue, Sky View Parc and Long Island City Courtyard by Marriott.
